YNLG Health Intervention Yields Results As Newly Constructed PHC Records Successful Delivery

The intervention of the Yewa North Local Government (YNLG) Administration in the health sector has begun to yield positive results following the successful delivery of a baby boy at the newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Omilende-Igbokofi, Ogun State.

The newborn, delivered by Mrs Mary Adebayo, of the Oke-Eyo area, represented a significant milestone for the community, where residents previously had to travel long distances to access healthcare services.

The Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Dr Olusola Akinbode, congratulated the Adebayo family on the safe arrival of their baby and commended the health personnel for their professionalism and dedication.

Akinbode, reaffirmed his administration's commitment to complementing the efforts of the Ogun State Government towards improving healthcare delivery and bringing essential medical services closer to rural communities. He urged residents to protect and maintain the facility, emphasising that community ownership and cooperation with health workers were vital to its sustainability.

Speaking on the development, the Council's Doctor and Secretary of Primary Health Care (PHC), Dr Taiwo Adebowale, commended the local government for providing a conducive working environment equipped with modern medical facilities, while encouraging pregnant women, nursing mothers and residents of neighbouring communities to patronise the centre to access quality healthcare services.

Expressing her gratitude, Mrs Adebayo, appreciated the local government for establishing the facility, noting that it would ease the difficulties previously encountered by expectant mothers and other residents seeking medical attention.

The successful delivery underscored the importance of grassroots investment in healthcare infrastructure as a practical step towards improving access to maternal and child health services, reducing preventable health risks and eliminating the burden of travelling long distances to obtain medical care.
