Arigbabu Named NUJ Commissioner Of The Year

 The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has been honoured with the Commissioner of the Year Award by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Information Chapel, in recognition of his outstanding performance and remarkable contributions to the transformation of the education sector in the state. 

Presenting the award during the July Congress of the Chapel held at Olusegun Osoba Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Chairman of the NUJ Information Chapel, Comrade Oluwafemi Osipitan, said the honour was in recognition of Prof. Arigbabu’s sterling performance, particularly in the area of digitalisation which had respositioned education in Ogun state.

He noted that under Prof. Arigbabu’s leadership, the education sector has witnessed several reforms, particularly the introduction of Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA), which covers curriculum upgrading, teachers welfare, revenue generation, technology and innovation as well as infrastructure across the schools in the state. 

Comr. Osipitan acknowledged the state government's commitment to improving school infrastructure, enhancing teaching and learning, promoting excellence and creating an enabling environment that has restored public confidence in the state.

The Chapel Chairman expressed satisfaction with the Commissioner's achievements, while commending his dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to raising the educational standards of the gateway state.

 Responding, Prof. Arigbabu appreciated the NUJ Information Chapel for the recognition, describing the award as inspiring. He acknowledged the unwaivering support of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for providing the enabling support which partly accounts for the ministry's success.

 The Commissioner reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to sustaining policies and programmes that would further improve access to quality education, strengthen learning outcomes, and equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to compete globally.
