The passage of the bill followed the presentation of the report of the Finance and Appropriation Committee by its Chairman, Hon Julius Adebiyi.The leader, Hon Stephen Adeogun, then called for a motion for its adoption. Hon Adegboyega Adebayo moved the motion, which was seconded by Hon Emmanuel Opeisa, and unanimously by the whole House through a voice vote at a plenary presided over by the Leader, at the Odebiyi Legislative Chamber, Ayetoro.
The Leader then read the bill clause-by-clause before the members. Next, the Majority Leader, Hon Naimu Olaleye, moved the motion for the third reading, which was seconded by Hon Lateef Shittu. The Clerk of the House, Mr Ibrahim Kassimu, then performed the third reading of the bill, and it was finally passed without any adjustment.
Commending his fellow lawmakers and the entire staff for their support and steadfastness in ensuring the bill's speedy passage, Leader Adeogun directed that a clean copy of the bill be sent to the Chairman for his assent.
As the legislators concluded the 2025 Budget defence session, Hon Adeogun urged various departments to intensify efforts to boost the council's revenue, supporting the implementation of key projects and delivering more democratic dividends.
