Bolt Expands Nigerian Operations To Enugu And Abeokuta

Bolt (formerly Taxify) launched in two new Nigerian cities, Abeokuta and Enugu on Friday, bringing its ride-hailing service to 11 cities in Nigeria to date, as it positions itself as the largest ride-hailing platform in Africa, in terms of geographical reach.

Last month, Techloy exclusively reported that the ride-hailing platform would launch in Enugu in December, after it began recruiting for an Operations Specialist role in the city.

The expansion brings the number of Nigerian cities served by the ride hailing platform to eleven, including Lagos, Owerri, Ibadan, Kano, Uyo, Abuja, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Benin, Enugu and Abeokuta.

Launched in 2013, Bolt is now available in over 30 countries, claims to have over 500,000 drivers, with over 25 million riders around the world, and is the fastest growing ride transportation platform in Africa and the world.
