OGUN 2019: PAS, Best Successor Of Amosun - OGHA Members

We have so far been inundated with how present and past APC stalwarts at the national, state and senatorial levels present and past have at one time or another endorsed PAS candidature. Same way traditional councils, women in politics and in government, artisans, market women and market men, youth councils and youth organizations all have been passing a vote of confidence on PAS.

But how is Speaker Adekunbi rated at the OGHA chamber by fellow parliamentarians?

NaijaVeteran went to town to hear from the horses' mouths. Even though getting to speak with the honourables and fetch the facts from them was an arduous task to say the least.

Our findings however revealed that about 87% of the state legislators are PASists. It'll have been ludicrous had we claimed PAS has 100% support of his colleagues in his quest to becoming Ogun governor next in a multiparty legislative assembly and when the number of APC governorship aspirants alone are running to about eleven.

A PASist is of course a believer and an ardent supporter of PAS, Prince Adekunbi Suraju and his gubernatorial evangelism.

Below are the views of the few assemblymen we were able to freely fathom their feelings one after the other.

"Categorically speaking, l don't pretend having penchant for Mr. Speaker to be chosen as APC governorship standard bearer and his eventual succeeding Senator Ibikunle Amosun in 2019. In his own little way he belongs to the class who have sacrificed for the growth of our great party, APC, in the state. And when it comes to been supportive of the government of SIA, to the best of my knowledge, no political office holder since 2011 till date comes to 30% of what PAS has endured."

"I therefore buy into his aspiration due to the aforementioned factors and because he is a versatile team leader. He has as well learned a lot from Governor Amosun. I look round, as we speak, no contender in the governorship race is as equipped as The Czar of Ogun State parliament from 2011. When he talks you see him radiating readiness and purposefulness exactly in the semblance of any serious political leader anywhere on the globe."-- DEPUTY SPEAKER Rt Hon Kunle Oluomo

"Mr. Speaker is indeed phenomenal. His blueprint and roadmap as well as knowledge of economics, education, health, trade and  commerce etc belies his training as an engineer. I so much admire his intelligence, wits, braveness and astuteness in tackling legislative matters and how he relates with us." - APC WHIP Hon Adebowale Ojuri

"I was amazed the day my private chatting with Mr. Speaker got to the level he boldly remarked, 'How old was Barack Obama when he was elected American President and he managed trillions of dollar economy with a population of 300 million people  ? Macron was just 39 year-old when he became the President of perhaps the third most powerful country in the world, France. What's the size of the economy, population and landmass of Ogun State compared with those of France and America that l can't manage?' God! Since that day my conviction about PAS' abilities and capabilities has doubled"-- HOUSE CHIEF WHIP Hon Idowu Olowofuja

"I have always been praying for Mr. Speaker to succeed. "He is my kinsman. His success is an achievement on my own part"-- Minority Leader Hon Jemili Akingbade.

"I can't but pitch my tent with the Rt Hon Speaker due to so many factors. The foremost amongst which is his been a grassroot politician.  I am also one. You should expect that I'll appreciate that important factor."

"At this stage of our political development, only a candidate properly schooled, groomed and exposed to the intricacies of Ogun State politics can be trusted with the fortunes of the state. It is that person who can truly consolidate Senator Ibikunle Amosun's striking developmental strides. The Gateway State is peculiar. Only the best is good enough for her. That's exactly what Mr. Speaker epitomizes in the scheme of things"-- Hon Olayiwola Ojodu

Hon Yetunde Adekanbi  Sogbein, Odeda State Constituency also has this to say, "The Rt Hon Speaker is by no means a quintessential and pragmatic leader. It is only when you get closer to him that you realize how politically savvy and administratively studded he is. Sentiments apart, there's a good successor of Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the Rt Hon Speaker."

We cap it all, for now, with Hon Dare Kadiri's captivating submissions, "The conclusion by many that PAS is the whizzkid been touted by Mr. Governor in his parables can't be far from the absolute truth. I'm yet to come across a man of his age in Ogun State political landscape who is so brave, intelligent, clever and replete with innovations. He's a thaumaturgist who has been using rule of law,  constitutionalism and self-restrain to stabilize the assembly. Same magic he has used to institute an uncommon harmonious relationship with the executive arm of government."

NaijaVeteran aims to get in touch with other members of the OGHA to hearing their opinions on what PAS and his ambition means to them. We shall be feeding you with the outcome as soon as it is ready.
